Separate the course from the career
A degree can lead to several kinds of work, and many careers welcome more than one academic route. Explore both the curriculum and the day-to-day reality of possible roles.
Use three sources of evidence
Look at subjects you engage with, activities that hold your attention and skills you are willing to practise. Marks matter, but they do not tell the whole story.
Create a shortlist, not a single answer
Choose three or four directions and compare entry requirements, learning demands, future options and personal constraints.
Run small experiments
Try an introductory course, project, job-shadowing conversation or relevant volunteering experience. Reflection after action often produces better clarity than more browsing.
